Jake Newman receives an award
for 50 years of service from Commissioner Convery |

AWARDS CEREMONY
The Dover Township
Fire District One recognized its own for their duty and
service to the district. The ceremony was marked at a high
recognizing Jake Newman from Toms River Fire Co. 1 for 50
years of dedicated service. The members of his fire company
could not be more proud of his dedicated service to the fire
company and the community.
Along with Jake, other
members of Toms River Fire Company #1 awarded Length of
Service Awards were Richard Beck for 45 years of dedicated
service and Tom O'Neil for his 40 years of dedicated service.
Jake, Richard and Tom are well respected fireman with a vast
knowledge of firefighting skills and each has held the
position of chief for this fire company.
Other members
recognized are past chiefs Mark Autenreith and Kieran Flynn.
Kieran has held the chief position for two separate terms and
along with Tom O'Neil are past presidents for Fire Co. 1.
For fifteen years of
service, Monica Bish, Raymond Sackman and Ken Stevens were
recognized.
Peter Mansueto Jr. was
awarded for his 10 years of service. It should be additionally
noted, Peter's son, Anthony Mansueto, recently became a
regular member of our fire company.
Scott Alvarez received
his award for five years of service.

Ron
Weingroff
Firefighter of the Year |
A momentous award was
presented to one of our own, Ronald Weingroff. Ronald, a truly
dedicated member to Toms River Fire Co. 1, received the
FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR award.
Ron, a member of our
fire company for more than thirty years, is a vital part of
the existence of Toms River Fire Co 1. He is not
normally found on the front lines, but Ron is involved in a
vast network of logistics. He is vital in fund raising and
securing contributions from local merchants.
Ron has always been
the main force behind the annual Halloween parade which has
turned into the second largest such parade in the world. He
spends endless hours in the construction of the event. When
many perceive the end of the event is near, Ron has already
begun work for the following year. His efforts keep "The Toms
River Halloween Parade" the trademark of Toms River Fire
Company #1.
Outstanding
Service awards were presented to local businesses: Triangle
Reproduction Center, Wal-Mart of Toms River and Silver Bay Car
Wash.
Officers for Toms
River Fire Co. 1 and the other District One companies were
sworn in during this evening as well. Fire Company #1 Officers
sworn in were: Fire Chief John Mount, Assistant Fire Chief
Gary Dye, Captain Robert Alston, First Lieutenant John Stubing,
Second Lieutenant John Gonzalez and George Dros was sworn in
as Fire Police Captain.
Congratulations to all
those awarded and to the fire officers of Fire Company One, we
wish for each of you strength and wisdom.
